Indigo Floral Painting on Paper & Stoneware w / Krista Johnson & eikcam ceramics
Saturday May 3rd 2025 / 10am to 1:00pm at OH Studio Project.
We warmly welcome Krista Johnson, master painter hosted by eikcam ceramics at OH Studio.
Krista Johnson’s painting practice reflects her values of beauty, attentiveness, and a deep, ongoing connection to nature. Working with charcoal, ink, and oil paint, she creates pieces that range from gestural marks on paper to expansive, layered canvases and murals—each inspired by flowers, emotions, colours, and memories.
Based in Vancouver’s Eastside, Krista holds a Bachelor of Communication Design from ECUAD. Her paintings are showcased at the Ian Tan Gallery and Once a Tree Furniture and are collected in both private and public spaces across North America.
————————
Krista will guide an intro to floral painting with acrylic ink on paper.
A demonstration of painting techniques will be followed by floral exploration on paper from fresh floral bouquets.
— Light refreshments break —
Next, Grace & Krista will guide painting with indigo stain on stoneware.
A demonstration of techniques working with stain on stoneware will be taught then applied with guidance throughout.
Each participant will plan their layout & design on a 10” round stoneware plate and have a small mini dish to accompany any further explorations with stain.
After the pieces are fired, they can be picked up 2 to 3 weeks later. We can also accommodate shipping if desired.
To maintain an intimate atmosphere, the session is limited to 8 people. No prior painting experience necessary.
Looking forward to hosting you for collaborative painting workshop.
